My first time to the Banner Facility since seeing it under construction. The exterior of the facility is beautifully designed with an inner courtyard with various activities and another beautiful desined space. The 24 hour access makes it open for all in need anytime. The staff at the front desk were helpful, polite, and make you feel at ease. The staff in the North Center were especially personable and knowledgeable. All in all an A+ visit with a feeling like everyone is in excellent hands and will get care above and beyond expectations.

Wonderful. I hated myself when I walked in, but when I walked out I was at peace. Although I felt I was in another world, locked away from the rest of the earth, it made me think of my actions. My only complaint: YOU NEED SALTED SALTINES!!!! (They are just "ines" without the salt) and Nick needs a raise. He was the best therapist I saw there, and he's awesome. I heard from the other girls before I met him say how awesome he was, and he really is. He let us outside and talked to us there, and we got to have a lot of fun with him. The food is roughly cafeteria level, but a variety of food nonetheless. One girl was convinced of her hallucinations being true, and the Tech workers handled it very well. I think this hospital is a great example. (I believe you should open up an extensive outpatient, because Aurora sucks) After banner I went to Aurora for extensive outpatient, which sucked and I stopped very early on. I didn't like how we could smoke outside the hospital and I was offered a vape by one of the other kids. The therapist was insensitive and rude to the other parents on parent nights, and she wasn't very clear with us. She was, truly, a hypocrite and a shamer. I recommend the drive to Scottsdale for this hospital. It is a very nice and accepting place for youth and adults.

Everyone was amazingly professional and helpful. I went in for suicidal ideation and they helped me through it. Several staff members told me personal stories that helped me know i was not alone. I will say that one on one therapy is not provided it is all group therapy but you speak to a psychiatrist once a day. I would recommend to anyone needing in patient psychiatric help.

My son had been turned away at 4 different facilities before going to Banner. Every staff member from admissions, security and nursing was professional, compassionate and extremely helpful. I feel truly blessed he found this place, they took his insurance and they treated him like a valued human being. After visiting him, I can leave there knowing he is being well taken care of and treated with respect. I know how difficult it must be to work there, yet everyone has a smile on their face and treats everyone kindly and fairly. I could not be more appreciative.

Great facility. Not that you ever really want to be in a place like this, but, if you need to be, I would recommend this place. The staff was great, very helpful. I just felt very comfortable there.

On May 2nd, 2005 I completed detox at BMH. I requested a volunteer release. I drank on the bus ride home. I requested admittance again on May 10th, 2005. Insurance ran out after 14 days but BMH was able to provide me a sponsored scholarship in which I completed 21 days of inpatient therapy. I have been sober since. Thank you to BMH and its staff, at the time, for playing a significant roll in the life saving treatment I received.

I give this facility a five star review because the staff was able to help my family member that was here. Everyone was polite and caring and it really is a beautiful facility. That said, I hope you never have to see the inside of this place for obvious reasons.

I just spent a week in the suargo unit for suicidal tendancies. Overall I had a fantastic experience there from the staff to the groups. This was my third visit and by far the best one. Group therapists, Tony and Vera, were fantastic! They ran the most intense groups and I learned so much from them both. I really appreciated you two! Every nurse I was was great. I did have an issue with one but we talked it out. All the techs were great, but a few stood out; PAM (you're an awesome lady!), Bonnie, who is so upbeat, and Pamela, who was just so nice! I really enjoyed rec time with Kathy (especially bracelet making!), and her positive energy. My case manager was Laura and I can't thank her enough for going above and beyond to try and help me with my mother (thank you SO much!). A special thanks to Michelle who cleans the unit. She helped me with my uneven bed and couldn't have been nicer. My bed was awful and needed replacing. The food was good but bring money if you want sodas, or other extras. One complaint is that there's no decaf coffee on the unit, only in the cafe. My Dr was a nice man, but antidepressants alone and bipolar don't play well together. I do understand what he was trying to do, but I wish he would have taken my word that it was going to be a problem. I would, and have, recommended this place to others. I will absolutely go back the next time I'm struggling. To the staff whose names I forgot....thank you for taking care of me during this difficult time😀

I was here back in June of 2015 on the adolescents unit. It was an excellent experience for someone who is going through depression and experiencing self harming thoughts. The staff were comforting and able to communicate without getting patients riled up. A big thanks to Nurse Shawnalle and Jason for helping us to succeed and motivating us to overcome our obstacles. The rooms were as comfortable as they could get being in a hospital setting. Even the kids there with me were respectful and kind to other even if they were having a rough time. I was here twice in the same year (June and December) and was treated exactly the same as I was the first time I went in. Thank you Banner for moving me in the right direction.

This is an excellent facility. People are entitled to their opinions however. I am an employee. Half the hospital rooms are double occupancy and half are singles. Most people have a very positive experience here. Almost every employee working here is doing so for the proper reasons, a desire to help those in crisis.

I know someone that was here in the past and it's a very professional facility. Btw, Daisy Wilson is a spam/fake account that's review needs to be removed. This person has copied and pasted this same review on multiple behavioral health facilities. Obviously this person is against behavior health because you can find the same exact word for word review all over various facilities.

I checked myself in here for alcoholism, depression and addiction to benzodiazepines. I was prescribed them for acute symptoms resulting from being the victim of a violent crime... I have never been able to complete a stay at any hospital, until Banner. I've always been uncooperative at other places, because I can't stand being put in a dimly lit room that's cold, and color pictures all day. At Banner, once you get through processing (which can be unpleasant) you stay in a room that is sort of like a motel that sleeps two. There are hourly activities that you can participate in, and are encouraged to. Not only group talk, AA meetings, and the like - but, I'd picked up a pool cue and a guitar for the first time in 5 years in Banner. Nowhere else I've been has as much going on as this place. As someone who desires to get better, I can't recommend it enough. People must realize, though, that some people aren't ready to get better.

I just spent 7 days here bcuz of my debilitating anxiety. I have to say that 5 stars isn't enough for the care and expertise I received!!! My care started at Triage. TRIAGE, within 15 mins of arriving, I was being evaluated by a nurse and crisis counselor. They were very thorough and sensitive to my complaints. They were also very surprised that my psychiatrist told me, "there is nothing more I can do for you," because they said there are definitely more treatment options to exhaust to treat me. They asked if I wanted to be admitted, and I said, "Yes, anything I can do to help myself." They also informed me that a bed wasn't available until tomorrow, and explained that I would be assigned a recliner in a large room with other patients. I agreed because I was desperate for help. Approx 10 mins later, I was in the back, getting prepared to enter the Observation Unit. OBSERVATION UNIT. I spoke with a Psychiatrist, BHT (Behavioral Health Tech), an RN, and a Case Worker that explained every aspect of my care and admittance into the unit. I was allowed to shower, eat, walk around, use the restroom, watch TV, use the telephone whenever I wanted, receive medication that began my treatment. It was difficult to relax due to my anxiety diagnosis, but I was offered medications, ordered by the Psychiatrist, but they didn't work well. Approximately, 22 hours later, I was moved into the one of the 2 adult inpatient unit's (there is 1 child 13-17 age inpatient unit's too). INPATIENT UNIT. All the inpatient units offer patient's a 2-bed room to share. The days are very structured and begin with vitals at 7am. Then there is breakfast, medications, an appointment with the Psychiatrist, morning "communication meeting" with a BHT. Then a "group' meeting. Following that is some "recreational time," then lunch (good food options). After lunch, there is more "rec time," followed by the afternoon "group" meeting. Then there is more "rec time" followed by dinner. After that is more "rec time" followed by the evening "communication meeting." Then there is "rec time" until bedtime. It's a very structured program that aims to resolve all your psychiatric needs while there. Some of the "rec time" included swimming, playing shuffle board, giant Jenga, and pool. Many other options were available on days other than the ones I listed above. Seeing the same Psychiatrist and Case Worker every day, really helps to solidify your treatment plan. Everyone was working hard to make sure I had positive results from my medication AND the communication and group meetings were helpful. I am super happy with the care I received all the way through discharge. DISCHARGE. Prior to discharge, the case worker, Psychiatrist, and RN were all on the same page. Any questions I had were easily answered by all of them. The Case Worker made sure I had a Psychiatrist to follow up with (and I already did have one). She made sure she had all the info on the followup treatment I agreed to attend. She even made follow-up appts with my doctor, and Psychiatrist. To say I was impressed was an understatement. All of my belongings were returned to me, including the medication that I was using during my hospital stay because it was not available at their in hospital pharmacy. When I left, I drove myself home because I drove myself to the hospital for help, I felt relieved....I received EXCELLENT CARE that led to medication changes and wonderful follow-up appointments that will help me overcome any obstacle my severe anxiety throws at me!!! Thank you BANNER for hiring such professional, competent, patient, understanding, and compassionate staff to help me during my stay. There aren't enough kind, but honest, words I can say to describe my treatment. ****ALSO, the adult units also care for detox and withdrawal patients, and patients that just want drugs to make them sleep all day or barbiturates to help keep their "high." If any of those patients choose to write a review, it may not be accurate. The staff are very careful!!!!

It is a great new facility: Clean and excellent facility and services. All staffs are very kind and nice and of course professional. Doctors are very kind too. My son and we as parents are very pleased with this hospital.

My daughter was discharge. The staff treat my daughter very nice. They help her to get thru. I recommend this place. I was so satisfying with the service.

Just wanted to say that I don't regret Rating this hospital 5 stars because I had The best opportunity to recover with Their help. My sincere appreciation to Carole, For her dedication to help the patients. My respect for her, over 40 years of service That's call dedication. She is an angel... Everyone in the hospital have an important part of the recovery from each patient. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all. !!!!!!!!!!!! .

I was just discharged. And let me tell you Banner in Scottsdale was amazing. I would recommend it to anyone neeading behavioral help. But there was something that i disagreed with. But that had nothing to do with nurse and below. The unit i was in (Emaral) had some of the kindest staff. Always ready to help and hear you out. Your always surrounded by people who understand what your doing. I came out with a new purpose in life and new friends. Thanks to all the staff.

I was put in for Deppression and Suicidal thoughts and was placed in the adolescent unit (Pearl/Kochina). The staff really help you laugh through the struggles and most of the Registered Nurses/Techs were nice to everyone. The food was absolutely gourmet in my opinion. If I ever had to go back to a place like this I would definitely choose here, If you want help they will give it to you

I spent 10 days at Banner for severe Depression and suicidal thoughts. The other patients were warm and inviting and the staff catered to my needs. They always asked me if I needed anything, always made sure that I got my meds and that I felt safe and within ten days they had prescribed me with the perfect antidepressants and now I am doing much better.
